Easter Pics and Pool!

So Tuesday Sister and I planned to take Easter pics- just the three of us. Lucky me who gets to take professional pics with Reagan! I was so excited about this. Well the photographer my sister usually uses had problems finding us in Balboa Park and didn't have a way to reach us. So long story short, we ended up taking some pics ourselves at the park and then getting some done at a shopping center around town. The pics turned out great! We were pretty happy with them. Afterwards we ended up at the pool and Reagan charmed us with her little chick outfit and bonnet! :)

So CA continued...we are now on Monday!

So Monday we had planned on going to the San Diego Zoo. I love doing things like this and I find animals so entertaining. Plus I mean it is the renown SAN DIEGO ZOO- I had to visit! This ended up being the one of the FUNNIEST days I swear- me and Sister had the giggles all day starting with.....the odd looking animal (we still are not sure what it was) that looked as if it were catchin some rays. When I got my camera out to take a pic it just stared at me and squinted its eyes- no not squinted like Amberly and Sister the morning I woke them up- squinted like a "I'm too sexy for this zoo!" HAHAHA I don't even think anyone else would understand some of the stuff we were laughing at. Sister gets in these moods when she is so hilarious and doesn't even know it! I love it! Anyways, by the end of the day, our dogs were barking and man was it a relief to get out of those SHOES- right sis!?

Sunday- finally get to visit Sister's church!

Sunday morning my sister, Amberly, and I went to my sister's church. I had been looking forward to going because my sister speaks so highly of it. I was so impressed and moved by the service and the ministry....it was absolutely incredible. I wish so badly that we had a church like theirs here! After church, we ate at California Pizza Kitchen and all had the chicken Caesar sandwich which is my absolute favorite! Afterwards, you guessed it- more shopping! haha...well we wanted to check out DSW because Amberly was looking for these cute sandals and my sister suggested DSW. Sure enough, we found what she was looking for! Later we took Amberly to the airport and at the same time, picked up Darrin since he was flying back from Vegas.

Then...that evening....changed my life. I watched...for the first time.........TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!! I had finished the book awhile back but was waiting to rent it and watch it with my sister who was also reading it. I don't know if she liked it as much as I did but I will admit that I am so googly-eyed for Edward! What a HUNK! That Bella girl is a lucky dog! I can't wait for New Moon. Sister....you better get to reading young lady! I am almost through! :)

Waking up in Santa Monica!

So the next morning is kind of a funny story. I woke up a little early (around 6am) and tried to go back to sleep since everyone was out including Reagan who I thought was in her crib that the concierge brought us. Well I laid there waiting until about 7:15 ish to finally get out of bed so I could peek out the window and see the sunrise. Well, after peeking out and seeing how BEAUTIFUL the beach looked, I thought everyone might appreciate it if I woke them up. Well, I hadn't realized that Reagan ended up sleeping in the bed with my sister and that the sunlight coming in from when I peeked out, woke her up. Immediately my sister yelled, "SISTER YOU WAKE HER, YOU GET HER!!" So then I said "Yall are going to thank me... yall are going to want to see this!" Haha boy was I wrong- I guess when "mothers" are on vacation, they want to enjoy the beauty of sleeping in! Amberly squinted open her eyes at me and goes, "I can't wait for you to have children!"

Anyways, after everyone was up and around, we got ready for breakfast. We went to a cute little shop called Cora's Coffee Shoppe. It was the absolute BEST breakfast I have ever eaten! I ordered some orange and blueberry pancakes! The orange juice was fresh squeezed and the coffee was delicious too. After breakfast we went back to the hotel to get ready to check out. While Amberly and Sister packed, I fed Reagan on the balcony. We checked out, went to some shopping centers in Santa Monica, and drove back to San Diego that evening. We had In-n-Out burger for dinner and then went home!!

LA & Hollywood!

So the next morning on Friday, our second day there, we headed out to LA to make our reservations at the Ivy- a supposedly hot spot to dine for lunch. Although we did not see any celebrities, we sure felt like some! The restaurant was really charming and had beautiful scenery, but what we ordered wasn't spectacular. The overall experience was pretty neat at least for me and Amberly....as for my sister and Reagan, not so much! It was a little too small and crowded for a baby, so she walked Reagan around while we finished eating. Afterwards, we walked around some shopping centers there and drove down Rodeo Dr. Then we went to Hollywood and walked along the stars and did MORE shopping! The weather and shopping centers are so great in Ca, you can't help but want to walk around every one you come across! :)
That evening, we checked into the Loews hotel in Santa Monica and for dinner, we decided to order Caliornia Pizza Kitchen take out and bring it back to the hotel. Afterwards we enjoyed a nice night out on the balcony which was huge and had the best view of the ocean and Santa Monica Pier. It just doesn't get much better than that! :D

Start of the Spring CA trip!

So I just recently got back from visiting my sister and Reagan and it was such a special and fun trip! My sister-in-law, Amberly, went with me and stayed for almost 4 days. We got there Thursday around lunch time so after Sister picked us up from the airport, we ate lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Afterwards, we did a little damage at some shopping centers nearby. That night we laid low and my sister's place and ate some taco soup that Amberly made us. We wanted to relax and get some good sleep before heading out to LA the next morning!

Houston Rodeo!

We went to the rodeo this past weekend with Amanda and Jordan and it was so cool! We didn't get much of a chance to walk around but we did eat some good BBQ and watched a little bit of the rodeo. Then the best part, we got 4th row seats to Taylor Swift baby! Thanks to Amanda, she gave us the hook up for sure! It was awesome- we had a great view and a good time. :D

Something to Celebrate

So my friend Stacie, I met her through Forrest. She is married to Kevin, one of Forrest's coworkers. I feel like I owe my life to Stacie because she was the first person to give me some direction with nursing. She is an RN and went through the Blinn program several years ago. She put me in touch with a professor at the A&M program (Cathy) so that I could find out more information about the program since it had just started. So Cathy and I got in touch, met for coffee exactly one year ago. It was spring break week last year because I remember Cathy being nice enough to meet with me during her spring break. She is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME and I LOVED meeting with her. She is truly an inspiration to me. Anyways, Stacie has been very interested in this whole process for me because she wanted it to work out so bad. So when she told me I was going to be getting my letter, she said that we could go to dinner and then out on Sat. night either to celebrate good news or to be supportive in case it was bad news. We went to Cafe Excell and then to Murphys Law with some of her friends that are already good friends with Forrest through work. We had a blast and it was the perfect way to celebrate!

Ashton's 2nd birthday!

So on Sat, we went to Houston for Asthon's birthday party. He turns 2 on March 20th. He is such a little turkey! One thing he does that is so funny is he thinks that if he closes or squints his eyes, that he is invisible. Haha and him and Aiden are so different too- practically complete opposite. Aiden is such a rule follower- When it was time for the boys to take their naps after the bday festivities, Aiden let everyone know that he had to go upstairs for his nap. So as he walks upstairs with his blanket in hand, Forrest messes with him and tells him that the circus is about to show up. He looked at Forrest and goes, "Well, I have to sleep first....they can just wait." HAHA! The both of them are just so cute and have the most entertaining personalities.

I also got to announce to Forrest's family the big news about nursing. It was nice that we were already planning on seeing them when I found out- that way I could just wait to tell everyone in person. They were very excited, of course and probably relieved because I know they were very anxious for me to find out too. Of course, in the beginning as soon as Forrest said "Moof has some news everybody..." I knew they were going to think it was about the nursing program or that I was pregnant. Haha thank goodness we don't have that kind of news to announce just yet! Maybe after nursing school. :)

Accepted!

THIS PAST WEEKEND I FOUND OUT THAT I WAS ACCEPTED INTO THE A&M NURSING PROGRAM AND I COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED! I have just been smitten all weekend. :)  I knew the day was coming that I was going to find out and towards the end, I was starting to get really anxious.

I actually knew I was going to be receiving the letter this weekend because a girlfriend of mine who knows a professor within the program called and told me I would be getting it on Fri or Sat. Well, when my friend Matt (who also lives in C.S. and right down the road from us) called to tell me about getting his letter, I knew I was next! My sister was just on pins and needles too because she knew when Matt got his and that as soon as I got my mail I was going to be calling her! Well after the mail man finally came, I checked my mail, found a big thick envelope which contained my letter, came inside and sat next to Forrest. I could barely open it- I was so nervous! I knew my life was about to change.

I opened it, and the first word I saw was "congratulate" and it was right then that I knew. I kept on reading just to make sure...I just couldn't believe it. That was by far one of the best moments in my life! I am so relieved to know now. Matt was also accepted so I am really excited that I already have a friend, a really good friend in the class.  We have gone through this whole process, step by step, practically side by side and I just knew if the program took one of us- it was going to have to take the both of us. I can't wait to meet the other 20 people in my class- we are about to spend the next 18mo. of our lives together! Class starts on June 1st and I cannot wait. :)

Girls Weekend 2009!

Every year, the women in Forrest's family (Aunt Dede, his mom Cheri, sister Amberly, and usually grandma Nena) go on a trip just us girls and get away from the daily grind. Sometimes we go scrapbooking but this time we decided to pamper ourselves at the Houstonian. We got massages, some got their hair styled, and I got a pedicure. We also enjoyed delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Saturday night we went to dinner at Crapitos and then to the Legally Blonde Musical and it was SO good! Also, while we were there we were good and made sure to wake up early, get a good work out at there nice gym, and then went for a run around the resort. The whole weekend was so nice and relaxing thanks to Amberly who planned it all. I could definitely get use to doing that on a regular basis! :)
