Sippy Cup

Just had to post this pic my sister sent me of Reagan. I love getting pictures like this- they are my favorite. I feel like I get an idea of what things look like around there during the day just the two of them.

She is getting to be such a big girl and holding her sippy cup all on her own now! I just can't wait to see her and play with her when they come home this summer! :D

Bless's Bridal Brunch

Yesterday morning was Bless's bridal shower and it was very classy. The home was fabulous, the girls were gorgeous, and the gifts were adorable. For her gift I had her wedding invitation nicely framed and gave her some taupe monogrammed hand towels. She is such a sweetheart and I was so glad to have been there for such a special day!

After the shower, Elisha and I got lunch at Cafe Excel and stayed for alomst 3 hours just chatting while it rained outside. We had the best time and I just adore her!

Journal & Calendar of Summer Events

So my sister told me I need to blog more regularly and suggested that I start blogging about my thoughts so that I can look back on them like a journal. Well, I am not as good with words as she is and I don't really feel like I take the time to just sit down and write. The blogs that I have been posting on a weekly basis- I feel rushed to get them done after the weekend. But today...I am not going to rush and I don't have a single pic to post so I apologize if it ends up being really boring!

Some important things going on with Forrest and I (mostly for summer)

  • This past week I have been working part-time instead of full-to get ready for school.
  • This coming Wednesday is an all-day orientation.
  • Things checked off my to-do list for school: Immunizations, health and physical report, criminal background, scrubs/uniforms ordered and monogrammed, lab coat and polo shirt ordered, paperwork completed and faxed, financial aid....
  • Things I still need books, stethoscope, nursing shoes, laptop and PDA software, plus a few more things that just seem to come up
  • Nursing school starts June 1st.
  • My birthday is June 3rd.
  • Dad's birthday is June 16th, and Grandpa is June 17th
  • Our two year anniversary is June 23rd
  • Bless's bachelorette party in Dallas is June 27th
  • Fourth of July- Beachhouse Crawfish Boil
  • My sister comes home in July...she is going to come here one weekend and we are going to go to Houston to visit Morgan.
  • Sister's birthday is July 17th
  • Bless & Davids wedding is July 25th
  • My sweet little Reagan Marie is turning 1 on August 6th
  • Summer semester ends August 10th
  • Stefanie's bachelorette party in San Antonio that following Thur. during my school break
  • Then her wedding August 15th and hopefully meeting up with the Bowmans in Boerne.
  • Mom's birthday August 30th.
I really hope I can do all of these things....I mean of course there are some things on that list that are a must, but I just don't know how stressed I am going to be with school. I am so anxious/nervous/excited about starting but just don't want to miss out on important events. I know it might seem like I am overwhelming myslelf but people don't realize that I have to study hard to make good grades. They don't come easy to me and I know I am going to be in a class with a lot of really smart students. I am comfident in my abilities BUT I know that it won't be easy! Wish me luck! :)

Weekend with Friends!

Last weekend, on Friday, Forrest and I hung out with our friends Kara and Anthony at Lake Bryan. There is a little restaurant/bar right on the lake that always has live music on the weekends. It is just so nice sitting out there on the lake, having a few drinks with friends, and listening to the live music. Forrest and I LOVE doing that kind of stuff. We always talk about how one day we are going to get a big ski boat, spend all day out on the lake, and then come back to that little restaurant for dinner. Just need to get through nursing school first before we start making anymore big purchases! :)

On Saturday, Ashley and Danny came in town for Danny's big 30th birthday! Ashley had called me about a week or two prior to them coming in town, said she wanted Danny to "feel young again" for his birthday, and that she thought College Station would be the perfect party destination! haha So they did and we all reminisced about the good ol days when Danny and Forrest lived together in college and remembered all the good times the four of us shared! It was a fun night and it definitely felt like we were all in college again!

Mothers Day Weekend!

This past weekend, I went to Mesquite to have some girl time with my momma for Mothers Day. On Saturday, we went to the Farmers Market in Dallas with my dad. The fruit was so delicious and the nursery nearby had the most beautiful flowers. There was so much color everywhere- I could not get enough pictures! We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant while we were there and then headed back home. Afterwards, my mom and I went to the mall to shop around a little while. That night my dad cooked dinner for us and we all watched Bride Wars which was pretty cute. Then on Sunday, we went to breakfast, ran a few errands, and then ate at our FAVORITE- Panera Bread! My mom and I love that place. After lunch, we met up with my Aunt Beverly and then I headed back to ol College Station to spend some time with the husband!

While I was in Mesquite, Forrest went to see Papa Honey and did some work on his land. Papa Honey likes his grass kept nice and mowed all the time so Forrest likes to help him keep it that way. Sunday, he drove to Brenham to have lunch with his family for Mothers Day and then went to Nenas afterwards.

Cheri's 50th Birthday!

This past Friday was Cheri's 50th birthday and Big Forrest threw her a surprise birthday dinner at Perry's Steakhouse in Katy. He made reservations for the board room so it was nice having our own room and service the whole evening. The food and service was incredible and we enjoyed what seemed like almost everything they had to offer. Cheri was very surprised and everything just turned out perfectly! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ended up staying there for almost five hours! Truly one of the BEST dining out experiences I have ever had!

The next day Forrest played in a golf tournament in Brenham, Aaron learned how to race his car at Texas World Speedway, and us girls enjoyed a nice "girls day" in Katy- thanks to the organizing of Cheri. We went on a home tour and visited very lavish homes for sale in Katy and then ate lunch at a place called Brookwood where you can eat, shop, and find really neat and unique things.

Sunday, Forrest and I, his parents, and sister and kids went to see Papa Honey. He is doing okay- having his good days and bad days. Hospice says "he is on his way out" but are unable to say exactly when. We will be continuing to visit him quite often and of course just being the family support that he needs.

Vaughn Party and Karas Bday!

I am a little behind on my blogging, but two weekends we attended the Vaughn company party. This was our second year to attend and every year they try to change things up a little. This year we stayed at the Marriott in the Woodlands which was conveniently looked next to shopping centers and all kinds of "touristy" things to do. While the guys attended their work meetings, the girls were able to shop and lay out by the hotel pool. That evening we had a cocktail party, dinner, and after party at a bar called Bakers St. It was so much fun!

The next day, on Sunday, we celebrated Kara's birthday at Stacie and Kevin's house. The girls chatted over drinks inside while the guys BBQ'd and after dinner we just enjoyed the evening outside. Stacie entertained us with her jokes and Kevin serenaded us with his songs on the guitar! They are the best hosts and we can't wait to all get together again! Next time- OUR house! :)
